Eclipse trumpets are made in the UK, and this beautiful example was created in 2009. It features their changeable leadpipe system and includes two leadpipes so you can choose which one suits your own resistance levels, and also a rear tuning slide. A mouthpiece is not included. Forsyths have provided the pictured case but other cases are available to purchase separately if the one provided is not suitable.
This is a second hand instrument and shows signs of wear.
Founded by Leigh McKinney, Eclipse launched their first trumpet in March 2003 after having many prototypes put through their paces by pro players from varying backgrounds. Since then, Eclipse have begun to produce C and Eb trumpets, Bb and Eb soprano cornets, and flugelhorns. Eclipse offers various bell, leadpipe, and finish options to truly personalise your instrument. For more information visit their website here.
At Forsyths we love to get the chance to support smaller business, so we're thrilled to have an Eclipse trumpet in our cabinet! This particular example is a fairly early model and features their interchangeable leadpipe system that means you can choose the size that best suits your resistance levels and playing style. The sizes included here are the O and 4O, the 4O being the more open of the two. The bell is stamped MY (medium yellow) which is one of Eclipse's more popular bells, offering an amazing core to the sound while still being able to provide a bit of a sizzle - perfect for lead playing, musical theatre, and jazz.
The silver plating is definitely showing signs of wear at the major touch points, including the chunky finger rings and hooks which is one of the more eye-catching features found on many Eclipse trumpets. There's only one way to find out if this trumpet is the one for you - come and give it a play!
