We stock a wonderful range of violins, both traditional and electric, in our new climate controlled showroom on the second floor of our historic Manchester city centre store, est. 1857. With several violinists on the staff we take great pleasure in choosing the best instruments for our stock, and use our knowledge to help our customers select the instrument that suits their playing style, budget and ability, from complete beginners to professionals.

For fractional size violins we recommend the Stentor and Primavera student instruments, which are nicely affordable whilst of a sufficient quality to be properly functional with good tuning stability and comfortable playability. Unlike many online retailers of student violins we set up all our student violins on arrival at the shop so they perform their best as soon as you take them out of the case.

We also have a buy-back scheme for student violins purchased from us: simply bring the previous violin in with you when you're ready for the next size and we will refund 50% (subject to the violin being in similar condition to when puchased and without any parts needing replacing) towards the next violin. If you didn't buy your previous violin from us, we can still offer a part exchange to help towards the next instrument. Thanks to this scheme we usually have second hand violins in stock, all checked and ready to go, so if your budget is tight we can help there as well.
