Its image is synonymous with quality and value. Its instruments are known for their tone and feel. Some of the most amazing artists over the last five decades have gravitated towards the brand and its guitars. Johnny Cash, Crosby, Still & Nash, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Carlos Santana, Paul McCartney and so many more have played Alvarez over the years. In the late 60’s the company began to develop what turned out to be a remarkable relationship with the Japanese Master Luthier, Kazuo Yairi. The marriage between Yairi’s handcrafted excellence and SLM’s knowledge of acoustic instruments and the music business, was a perfect fit and brand grew incredibly quickly into one America’s most recognized acoustic guitars.
