Kawai have been making pianos since 1927 and their pianos compete directly with those by Yamaha, generally offering a warmer-toned alternative. A growing number of high profile musicians have turned to Kawai as their instrument of choice including Neil Sedaka (who owns two KG3 grands), Matthew Bellamy from Muse, and 2010 Young Musician of the Year Lara Melda (who has an RX3 grand). Kawai offer an industry-leading 10 year warranty. In common with Yamaha, Kawai make their more affordable models in Indonesia (K15E, K200, and K300) with higher range models being made in Japan.
